Challenge
Human tissue slides for clinical pathology are high-risk special articles under health quarantine control, and the approval standard is exacting.
They are also frequently shipped for a single patient, which means the applicant is often an individual or a hospital department with no declaration account and no experience of the health quarantine route. Applications filed without that experience are commonly returned — and here the delay is measured against a patient waiting for a diagnosis.
Approach
We took the application in full: registration, documentary preparation, risk disclosure and the approval filing itself.
Because the category is one we handle regularly, we were able to raise the case with the responsible health quarantine office in advance. The intended use, the risk profile and the diagnostic context were all with the reviewers before the file reached them.
Outcome
Approval was granted within one working day, and the slides cleared and reached the hospital in time for the analysis to proceed.
